Can I get a Medicare rebate for Osteopathy at Complete Care Osteo?
If you have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs you may be eligible for Medicare benefits for allied health services, such as Osteopathy, to help manage your condition.
Qualifying for Medicare Rebates:
Eligibility for these rebates begins with obtaining a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from your general practitioner (GP). This plan can provide you with a Medicare rebate for a maximum of five allied health services per patient each calendar year from eligible providers.
The Process for Claiming Osteo Services:
Step 1: See your GP to determine eligibility.
Step 2: Receive a referral for Osteopathy.
Not everyone is eligible for a Medicare Referral to see an Osteopath. Your GP must check if you meet the criteria for a care plan and provide us with their referral prior to your appointment.
Step 3: Treatment begins.
Step 4: Making a claim with Medicare.
Claiming Medicare Rebate:
On the day of your appointment, you are required to pay the service fee.
Our staff will then process your Medicare claim by swiping your Medicare card and enter details of your referral.
Medicare rebate is reimbursed into your bank account, which must be a cheque or savings account. From November 1, 2023 the Medicare rebate for CDM plans is $58.30 rebate for a maximum of 5 appointments per patient each calendar year. Please note - that our clinic does not bulk bill care plans.
Step 5: We let you GP know about your progress.
Your plan and progress will be reviewed frequently by your GP, so your health practitioners can determine if your goals are being met and if any changes need to be made.
In summary:
